BASIC FIRST AID

Description:

This course is ideal for people who may be called upon to administer first aid in the initial minutes after an incident has occurred. Taking only one day it is basically a trimmed down version of the Occupational First Aid course, and may suit people who need some of the skills of first aid, but don't have 3 days to spare.

Provides students with ability to recognize and treat the following:

      

  • Cardiac Arrest
  • Use of AED/Defibrillator
  • Patient assessment
  • Respiratory Emergencies
  • Epilepsy
  • Wounds and Bleeding
  • Altered level of consciousness
  • Musculo-skeletal injuries
  • Burns, scalds and electric shock

Ideal course for workers, assistants to Occupational First Aiders and people involved in sports. Please note this doesn't fulfill the criteria of the Health and Safety Authority for Occupational First Aid. Please see below:

Duration: One Day (8 Hours)

Max Number of Students: 10

Certification: Irish Heart Foundation CPR/AED Certification. Certificate of attendance for remainder.

Cost: €140 per student. Please ask about in house or group rates.
